Things that made me happy this week

- A lovely four-day, four-generational vacation in the Black Forest, courtesy of my grandmother, for Felix, my mom and myself. (The others had to work, so they couldn't come.)

- Felix being an absolutely adorable person (though very clingy) and being adored by everyone. Because his adorability is totally my achievement. :P

- Coming back from said vacation and seeing the hubby again, though the poor soul is still sick (and still has to work too much)!

- Today's xkcd. How true. Sad yet funny.

- A sweet yet powerful letter to young people of the female persuasion that I found via metaquotes. I could sign it, basically. (Sometimes I wish I had a daughter so I could show her these things: Instead I have a son whom I can teach to believe these things, too. Which is good as well, I guess.)

- A fellow dA-er's rant about what she disliked about GoT. I know, I know, how petty of me to harp on about that topic, but it really bothered me that much.

So that's all nice. Who needs birthdays, really? (While I'm being petty anway...)

Oh! Nachtraeglich alles Gute zum Geburtstag! It really was your birthday, was it? I was so puzzled by that--DA seemed to think it was your birthday, but there was no notification from LJ and nobody else seemed to have had one either, so I wasn't sure who to believe.
I hope you got to celebrate with lots of Black Forest gateau--or whatever your preferred kind of cake is!

dA had it right and LJ was being nasty then. It's ok, as I told

barbardin, in some cases it rankled a little because it was kind of the third time running (I know I shouldn't count, I just can't help it) and the rest were just the icing on the non-existant virtual cake. ;)

We had a BBQ in honour of my grandfather's birthday (same day), and I got Donauwelle made by the mom-in-law yesterday, so I guess that's an affirmative.

Ach, es geht ja nicht um die Einzelpersonen. Ich verschwitz Geburtstage ja auch immer mal wieder gern. Es war halt die Kombination aus "irgendwie alle" und aus "irgendwie schon wieder". Ich weiß ja, wie das bei mir manchmal funktioniert: Irgendwer auf meiner f-list gratuliert irgendwem, und dadurch denk ich dann Gottseidank selber auch dran. Es fehlte halt (schon wieder) der Katalysator. Diesmal sollte es eigentlich weniger weh tun, diesmal hab ich ja auch niemanden eingeladen (der dann nicht konnte und irgendwie auch das Gratulieren vergessen hat und ---)

Ist auch egal. Ich werd mich wie ein großes Mädchen benehmen und das schön rational entschuldigen. ^^

Trotzdem danke, nachträglich.

Ne, mir ist sowas auch nie egal, ehrlich. Da kommt man sich dann immer wie ein vergrätztes Kleinkind vor, aber wenn nicht am Geburtstag, wann denn dann?
Und ja, diese Katalysatoreinträge sind echt lebensrettend. ^^;
SO. Ich hab mir gerade einen Geburtstagskalender gekauft.
Nächstes Jahr denk ich dran. Auf jeden Fall. :)

Glad to hear you had a nice vacation. And of course Felix owes his adorability 100% to his adorable mum. No other explanation imaginable.

Ach verdammt - du hast am 1. Mai ja Geburtstag - ich hatte das im Hinterkopf, aber nicht auf meinem allwissenden Geburtstagskalender. Und ohne den (und ohne LJ-Benachrichtigungen) bin ich ein Geburtstagsversagr. Sorry :( hoffe du hattest trotz Internet-Fail einen ganz tollen Tag.

Es geht - das "nicht so Tolle" war aber systemimmanent, da ich mich dieses Jahr von Anfang an gegen eine Feier entschieden hatte, stattdessen zur immer etwas anstrengenden Familienfete aus Anlass des Geburtstags meines Opas gefahren bin ("Ach jaa, du hast ja heute auch..." Danke! Wertschätzung pur!) und dann abends "noch schnell gucken wollte, wer denn alles Liebes gratuliert hat"... und das ging dann ganz schief. O.ó

Nächstes Jahr versuch ich's vielleicht mal wieder mit ner Feier. 30 ist ja irgendwie doch was Besonderes. >_>

Ich versage ohne Kalender, Benachrichtigungen oder rettende f-list ja auch ständig. Von daher sollte ich eigentlich gar nicht heulen. Aber wie

barbardin so schön sagt, man verwandelt sich doch in ein vergrätztes Kleinkind... ^^

Da haben auch andere dran gedacht. War bestimmt der Flist-Domino-Effekt: Muss nur einer den ersten Stein werfen, dann können alle anderen nachziehen ^^

Wenn ich bis dahin über meine "Kommt ja eh keiner, und wenn, werden sie unser Gerümpel hassen"-Paranoia hinweg bin, werd ich das tun!

Apropos, lässt sich da was mit der Rekorderübergabe arrangieren? Das gute Stück steht nämlich sonst nur doof bei uns im Keller rum. ^^

Aufräumen ist nicht (so) das Problem - schrottige Möbel ersetzen schon eher ;) Ich hab doch so einen Perfektionismus-Fimmel und möchte am allerliebsten alles erst fertig renoviert und neu eingerichtet haben, bevor ich es der Welt präsentiere. *doof*

Tja, wann hast du denn mal Zeit? Ich bin ja reeelativ flexibel zur Zeit. Bloß Dienstag Vormittag haben wir Krabbelgruppe, aber da musst du sicher eh arbeiten ^^

Ja, kenn ich auch. Ich hab irgendwann einfach aufgegeben, weil ich die ersten Gäste sonst erst im Winter hätte empfangen können.
